This articles subject and the statement: “Witchcraft is not a Religion.” – Proof as follows.

Today I would like to talk to you About the Fundamental Propositions Number 1. Namely, why Witchcraft and Magic are Not Religion and why many people get the two confused. First, we have to start with the definitions of these terms:

  1. What is a Witchcraft:

According to the Wikipedia: Witchcraft (also called witchery or spellcraft) broadly means the practice of, and belief in, magical skills and abilities that can be exercised individually by designated social groups, or by persons with the necessary esoteric secret knowledge. Witchcraft is a complex concept that varies culturally and societally; therefore, it is difficult to define with precision. Click here for more from Wikipedia definition of Witchcraft.

Through many decades of my individual practice and communicating with other successful practitioners of the craft. I have been able to discover and establish one common thread that penetrates an entire Witchcraft practice through cultures and religious practices. It is the Ability of an Individual or a Group to concentrate their attention on one particular subject, task, goal or an outcome. That Ability comes as a result of Strongly Evolved Will Power, Definiteness of Purpose and Burning Unquenched Desire for an Envisioned Outcome.

In other words, your ability to successfully practice Witchcraft directly depends on 1. Your Ability to Concentrate on the Task or Goal, 2. Your ability to use your Willpower to KEEP your Concentration and Attention on the Task or Goal, 3. Your ability to Clearly Envision the Desired Outcome, 4. Your ability to take an Appropriate Action when Time Comes to Act.

This common thread or threads if you will is one unchanging constant throughout all the religions, cultures, spiritual practices. Take any religion Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Buddism, Hinduism, Wicca and Many Other Religious Varieties; you will see people that are Happy, Healthy and Wealthy. I am sure you know people like that. These are the people that naturally possess those talents and abilities or consciously raised, cultivated and cultured those within themselves.

Thus reasoning from this universally true facts, I can reasonably make a statement: “Witchcraft is not a Religion”. It is rather an intelligently directed collection of talents, abilities, and knowledge. Whether those talents, abilities, and knowledge are naturally possessed is irrelevant. What is relevant, however, is the capacity to think, understand concepts and ability to structure coherent thoughts, concepts, and mental structures and then act upon those in the due time.

  1. What is Magic?

Based on Wikipedia Definition: Magic or sorcery is the use of ritualssymbols, actions, gestures, and language with the aim of exploiting supernatural forces.[1][2]:6-7[3][4]:24 The belief in and practice of magic has been present since the earliest human cultures and continues to have an important spiritual, religious, and medicinal role in many cultures today.[5]

So if we take this definition of Magic as the correct one, we can reasonably assume that a person who practices Magic, with the use of certain rituals, gestures or symbols attempts to modify what is now perceived into something different. In other words, he or she wants to change existing conditions, events or results with the help of those tools.

For millenniums now, people are continuously looking for the way to accomplish what has been said in the preceding paragraph. In some instances, some individuals and groups were successful in performing this complicated and almost humanly impossible task. But once that person or group is gone the ability to perform the same task with the similar outcome is gone.

This analysis can lead us only to one of the three possible conclusions: 1. The ability to perform Magic was based on the individual’s skills and knowledge of some sort of the secret or 2. That person or a Group were able to discover the secret and use to their advantage and thus perform Magic or 3. There is no secret ritual, symbol, actions, gestures or some supernatural forces. There are, however, the abilities, talents and knowledge that were described in the explanations of Witchcraft above. Discovered or received by the group or an individual either naturally or through and by work, education and spiritual growth.

So reasoning back from these three possible conclusions we come to one outcome and grand conclusion:

Witchcraft or Magic is not a Religion. What Witchcraft and Magic are, is an individual’s or group’s talents and abilities to concentrate their attention on One particular subject, Task, Goal or an Outcome. That Ability comes as a result of Strongly Evolved Will Power, Definiteness of Purpose and Burning Unquenched Desire for an Envisioned Outcome.

With this, I would like to end this section of the discussion.
